There are seven powerful energy systems throughout your body that shape who we are. Each chakra holds an individual energy, yet each chakra works together with the others to keep us balanced emotionally and spiritually. The chakras run from our head, the crown, to below your stomach, the root. Sometimes, one or more of our energy systems can get blocked and cause feelings of unease, sadness, anxiety, or in more extreme cases, can cause physical disease. The good news is that there are wonderful techniques to unblock our chakras. But first, let’s get into what they are, and the colors and crystals associated.
The top chakra is your crown chakra, located at the top of your head. The color is violet, and a crystal that aids this chakra is quartz for clarity. This chakra represents your highest self, your fully connected being to the higher realms of spirituality. Connecting to your crown chakra allows you to be fully open to higher consciousness.
The next chakra is the third-eye chakra, located between your eyes. The color is indigo, and a crystal that aids this chakra is amethyst for psychic insight. This chakra represents a connection to the divine, a way of seeing what is outside our physical bodies. Connecting to your third-eye chakra allows you to be closer to the divinity that’s within you!
Down from that is the throat chakra, located in your throat. The color is blue, and a good crystal for helping connect here is aquamarine for peace and clarity. This chakra represents communication. This can be with others and even yourself. Communicating your authentic self to the world is using your throat chakra.
Next is the heart chakra, located at your heart. The color is green, and a helping crystal is rose quartz for love. This chakra is all about love! Loving yourself and others is important, and if this chakra is blocked, it may be difficult for you to receive or give love in any form, whether friendly or romantic.
Further down is the solar plexus chakra, located in your solar plexus. The color is yellow, and amber is a helpful stone for creating a sense of confidence. This chakra has to do with your core, or your true self. Confidence stems from the solar plexus, so connecting to this will help you feel more confident and connected to your true self! A blockage may mean you are dealing with self-doubt.
Next is the sacral chakra, located in your lower abdomen, a little below your belly button. The color is orange, and this chakra has to do with your emotional self, creativity, and sexual energy. Connecting, and unblocking the sacral chakra will help you stabilize your emotions and feel more powerful in your creative self. A helpful crystal is tiger eye for grounding.
The lowest chakra is in the base of your spine, called the root chakra. The color is red, and a crystal to help aid is hematite, also for solid grounding. This is all about grounding. How grounded you feel has to do with how clear your root chakra is. If your root chakra is blocked, you may have a feeling of insecurity and instability.
